JOUBe Goes to Wonderfruit (Thailand) – Documentary

Background

JOUBe is known for his innovative approach to sampling by using natural sound recordings – from Greenland’s ice sheets to Swiss mountain cattle. This time, JOUBe embarkes on a Thai journey, powered solely by his calf muscles. His custom-designed bicycle doubles as a musical instrument, creating a one of a kind performance setup that embodies sustainable artistry.

Our documentary aimed to capture JOUBe’s cyclo-electronic journey, following his path from Bangkok to Wonderfruit Festival in Pattaya.

Challenge

With only two days shoot, we faced the challenge of balancing high-quality film with the immediacy of the moment. Our solution was an inventive fusion of professional footage and iPhone shots that brought an intimate, personal style.

In the heart of the documentary is an interview by Lalicorn’s Founder, Frédy, whose questions and insights allow JOUBe’s passion to shine. This candid conversation becomes the lens through which we experience Joube’s journey.

Result

We were able to help bring JOUBe’s vision into the world in a way that is both authentic and inspiring. The finished piece is a unique experimental documentary.
