We had a pleasure to work with the multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural team of LALICORN to develop a series of animations on AI and the ethical human rights principles UNESCO is promoting.

LALICORN was able to quickly understand our needs and our target audience, get familiar with UNESCO’s vision and terminology and delivered quality work on time.

They helped to simplify our communication messages and at each step of the production process, they were able to provide quality advice, facilitate our decision making and also propose solutions to any issues arising with creativity.

They paid a lot of attention to details such as the words and the images used, which was much needed in the sensitive areas of human rights and freedom of expression. I highly recommend the services of LALICORN to address the communication needs of organizations for their professionalism, expertise and creativity.

Background

The animation series was created based on the UNESCO publication “Steering AI and Advanced ICTs for Knowledge Societies”. It promotes a better understanding of human-centred and ethical AI development. Each episode contains a key message illustrated from the publication.

UNESCO AI FIlms E1

UNESCO, as a global laboratory of ideas, is playing a leading role in facilitating international cooperation and shaping the future of AI.

Today, AI plays a role in billions of people’s lives. Sometimes unnoticed but often with profound consequences, it transforms our societies and challenges what it means to be human. Along with multiple advantages, these technologies also generate downside risks and challenges, derived from malicious use of technology or deepening inequalities and divides.

UNESCO’s recommendation pays particular attention to the wider ethical implications of AI systems in relation to UNESCO’s core areas of education, science, culture, communication and information.
